PARENTS! READ THIS FIRST!

As of the 2016-2017 school year, we must perform a Collins Writing during each class. We will mostly focus on Types I-III Collins assignments.

YOUR CHILD WILL EXPERIENCE PHYSICAL

ACTIVITY DURING EACH CLASS

Except:

1. During picture day

2. During enrichment programs, sing-alongs, ceremonies etc.

3. If there are safety issues

4. If students need bathroom breaks

5. Other unforeseen events like lockdowns, evacuations etc.

During each class, your child will experience:
1. Aerobic Cardiovascular Exercise during daily walks.

2. Muscular strength, muscular endurance, flexibility, agility, balance, coordination, and sometimes speed during the calisthenics segment of the class.

3. The daily PA State Standards for Health, Safety, and Physical Education Lesson.

We neither withhold physical activity as punishment nor implement physical activity as punishment. There are never any such punitive actions associated with this course.

Students who are creating safety concerns will sit near the teacher in order to reduce chances of injuries to himself/herself and/or others.

Although we do not force students to participate in physical activity, we do encourage each student to at least try the daily activities.
